Rubbing compound basically thins the paint so the scratches dissappear. Heres what I recommend, wash the car...do the works when cleaning it...use a clay bar, a GOOD rubbing compound and buff it with some good wax with a machine. And most of the scratches should dissappear if its only superficial. I forget what some of the good waxes are called or some good rubbing compounds (Mother's for example), ask the tt members. If the scratches don't dissappear, its probably deeper than the clear coat...you could do some wet sanding (very delicate process, very little for mistakes). To wet sand, get your Z's color in a bottle get some fine grit sand paper (1500 grit) some rubbing compound and some clear coat spray apply the paint and wait til it dries wet the sand paper and sand it until its smooth you probably have to do this like 3 times once you're satisfied...then use the clear coat spray over the worked area, three coats should do it and then wait til its dry...and use the rubbing compund to blend in the new coat with the rest of the clear coat on the car....oh yeah, may sure you use masking tape and new paper over the areas you dont wanna get painted hoped this help IM me!
